Junior Camp
What is it?
Each year we run two "Junior Camps", each a week long.
A holiday for one or two weeks under canvas in an ideal setting adjacent to the beach. A wide variety of organized games and activities, helpful Bible sessions, good food and plenty of fun, all go to make up the holiday you won’t want to miss.
This young peoples’ camp is for children in school years 5 to 9, as on 1 January preceding the camp.
We have a bonfire and bar-b-que on
the beach on the Tuesday evening.
(SORRY WE ARE UNABLE TOACCOMMODATE VISITORS)
On Wednesday we take a trip to Pleasurewood Hills which is included in the price of the week.
Thursday afternoon we have a themed afternoon
with lots of activities.
Friday afternoon sees a walk to Thorpeness to go boating on the Mere.
There are lots of other activities all week including inter-tent games and of course tent inspection!
So why not come along and join us for a week of
fun, food and friendship!
All those involved in the leadership of the camp are committed Christians who have the interest and welfare of your children at heart. Activities are carefully supervised.
Suffolk Junior Camp aims to give every young person a fun
holiday. It also tries to support and encourage the young Christians
who attend whilst sharing the message of Christianity with those who
are not yet Christians.
Who are the leaders?

Roger and Sally have been leading Junior camp since 2009. Previous to that they were workers at camp for 12 years. Sally was even a camper when she was young! They have 2 children, Oliver and Annie, who love to be part of all that's going on at Junior camp! Roger works in a Further Education College and Sally works for a charity called ‘Schools Ministry in Billericay’. In their own church they are very involved in the children and young peoples work, running monthly family services. They are also involved in the worship team.
They both have a heart for young people and feel that junior camp offers the chance for young people to have a week away from home mixing with other young people from different churches, youth clubs and backgrounds. It is a chance for them to ask questions about the Christian faith and become closer to God in great surroundings and good company.
The junior camp weeks are planned to a simple and effective program, which the children quickly get used to. The week is full of games and organized activities. There are 2 sessions each day which include lively worship, fun and games and a short talk where upon a speaker will have a theme explaining the Christian faith and how that impacts us. These are always a time to be challenged afresh wherever we are in our relationship with God. Campers, tent leaders and workers alike are frequently learning new things about themselves and their relationship with God. They are also full of fun and there is always a lot of laughter on site!
The fact that campers come back year on year is testament to the excellent week they always have and friendships that are made often continue through the year and into the next camp!
