Summer Madness

What is it?

Summer Madness is a camp for 15 to 19 year olds to enjoy themselves, be with friends and learn about God.

Each year about 70 young people spend a week enjoying the sun, chill in a cafe, enjoying wonderful food, making films, taking photos, going on trips, getting all creative, making music, building friendships, relaxing, bouncing on inflatables, going for walks, having bonfires, hunting fancy dress clad leaders, watching sunrises, chatting about everything, watching movies, dressing up smart, having random quizzes... just about everything that makes summers fantastic. It's great fun!" . There are also talks about what it means to be a young Christian and plenty of opportunity to discuss the things you hear.

So why not come along and join us for a week of fun, food and friendship!

Summer Madness is led by Christians who give up a week of their summer so you can enjoy a great holiday

Who are the leaders?

Kevin Gladwell

Kev the carrott

My name is Kevin and I have had the pleasure of being one of the helpers at Summer Madness for many years.  It is safe to say I love Summer Madness!  I have missed only one Madness in the last dozen years or so, and that was because my wife insisted on a two week honeymoon instead of one week (how selfish!)

I became a Christian at Sizewell Hall in February 1990 and have been involved in both church youth work and also the work of Sizewell Hall pretty much ever since.

I have been married to Sam since August 2008 and in February 2010 we had our beautiful girl Hannah.

Although we live in Banham in Norfolk I actually work just over the border in Suffolk as the Youth And Families Worker for Parkview Chapel in Botesdale.

My main interest is quite simply sport, especially football, and in particular the best team in the land, Liverpool F.C.

I live in Bury St Edmunds and teach in a middle school in Stowmarket. In my free time I like going to the cinema, playing squash and eating out with friends.
I've been involved in Suffolk Christian Camps since I was 10 when I first attended Junior camp as a camper. It's amazing seeing how God continues to use Sizewell as a place to refresh the faith of the young people.
